Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is set to host a small business forum on May 2, aimed at fostering connections with local small businesses and sharing upcoming opportunities for collaboration. The event will feature nearly 40 booths, offering resources from Sandia, other Department of Energy labs, and partners such as the Small Business Administration and various chambers of commerce.

According to Sandia, in 2023, the laboratory allocated $1.08 billion to subcontracts with small businesses, with over $481 million directed towards small businesses in New Mexico. Zach Mikelson, Sandia procurement manager, expressed the laboratory's intention for the forum, stating, "We hope this forum can be a one-stop shop of resources and opportunities for small businesses to help them do business with us."

The forum will also include breakout sessions, with specific focus on assisting disadvantaged businesses. Media personnel interested in covering the event are advised to reach out to Kim Quintana at kdquint@sandia.gov or call 505-537-3294 for further information.

This small business forum serves as a platform for Sandia National Laboratories to engage with local businesses and facilitate collaborations that can benefit both parties.
